After studying "atheneum" at St. Odulphus Lyceum in Tilburg, I went to Rotterdam to study Audiovisual Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy of fine arts and design. Choosing Audiovisual over Animation because of my passion for VFX and live action movies. Instead of just making cartoons, I wanted to integrate effects, which at the time wasn't possible at the Animation course.
During my study I did some freelance motion design work (most notably for the first live DVD release of the Dutch band Face Tomorrow) And after graduating I went to work fulltime for Valkieser Capital Images in Amsterdam. After two years there, it was time for a new challenge, which i found at The Ambassadors VFX.
In the early nineties I fiddled around a bit with WAD editing for Doom, but it wasn't before Duke Nukem 3D came out in '96 that I first started building whole levels and creating my own textures. Quake editing turned into an obsession and Half Life map and model design eventually led to me failing my secondary school final exams the first time. I've been building maps, making textures and designing props for games like Counter Strike, Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament 2004, Half Life 2, Counter Strike: Source and most recently i started a map for the HL2 mod "Zombie Panic", for which I sadly, rarely find time.
